I know he will probably never read this but I wanted everyone to see one of the most meaning full and influential people I have ever meet in my entire life. This is my grandfather, him along with my dad and a few other key people, together they have helped mold me into the person I am today. Yeah its true...corn. Yesterday heather and i went to the famous Spanish festival that is held a jambalaya park in G- town. wow its was awesome, people every where, live music...and the most important thing....FOOD. so I had to take a pic of something that i have only seen in one other place ( Sydney) they serve corn on the cob...and you dress it with things like butter, mayo, sour cream, parmesan cheese, salt, Tony’s, lemon pepper... yeah amazing!

Yesterday was a crazy day. I was in the office oh about 30 min then I was unloading 18- wheelers, moving people etc. Well I would like to tell you about a good friend of mine. His name is Craig Boutte. The story starts like this. Myself and anther guy were busy moving this widow out of storage to her new trailer in G-town. It was not the easiest move job I have ever done but wasn’t that bad. Well Craig calls me and is asking if I need help so I’m like sure. Craig shows up and is like a man on a mission, he’s killing it, putting boxes in places that boxes can’t fix….he must be a Tetris Champion!!!. So we finish packing down the four cars and one trailer with tons of stuff, and decided it time to make our journey through Gonzales. Ok this is where it gets crazy, I’m following the widow and Craig and gaylin are following me. Everything seems fine till we go to turn on Hwy 44, then “BOOM” I look in my rear view mirror and a box had fallen out of the trailer and busted open. I see Craig and Gaylin slam on there brakes and get out. I pull over and begin to run towards the box. Its five o’clock traffic, cars are stopped and honking when I see Craig stop the frantic motions to get the box picked up. He stands up and in his had he is holding a cross with Jesus on it!! He stands there and thrust the cross in the air and yells “Jesus wanted out of the box”!!!!!! And for that brief instant stopping rush hour traffic didn’t seem so bad and the broken glass that was every where didn’t seem to bad. So that’s my story I guess you had to be there but it was so funny. While we where moving her stuff in I found an old trinity shirt (old hpc name) so I had to show you the cross and the shirt!!

Ok I know this is probably going to seem really weird but its 3:56 in the morning!!! Yep its true the earliest blog I have ever posted. Here is why!! I am sitting in the balcony here at HPC, and it is crazzzzy in here. We started praying/worshiping at 12:00 and we plan on going to 6:00am. We started with 20 but we are down to about 10 and there has been someone playing live worship since we started. Its really hard to put into words the feeling in the air…its like a Sunday morning in here people are jumping and praying really loud…but its true worship… no show no routine just people expressing their real hearts. I challenge any one who reads this to call on the name of the Lord. With a true heart that is crying out to the Lord all things are possible. If you are hurt, afraid, alone, scared I tell you the lord is standing beside you just waiting on you! Yeah that’s right hes waiting on you to turn and look at him for the answers to all of your problems. He brings joy, comfort, love, peace, grace mercy, and guess what….its really easy all you have to do is ask. The bible says ask and you will receive, knock and the door will be opened (Matthew 7:7). Just ask and believe that’s it that’s all you have to do!!!! Trust me the Lord loves you and wants you to trust in him!

Here we are …I am sitting in the sanctuary of a HUGE church in the big ATL. The name of the church is First Baptist church of Woodstock!...yep you see it …WOODSTOCK…lol its true. But for real this church is FINE. First class facility big time. But it makes me smile cause I know that our church building will rival this one…that’s a cool feeling. Ill leave pictures soon I promise.

Culture??

Culture?

What is culture and what does it mean to the modern church? Do we use the “culture” as a crutch? Is it a valid argument for some of the things that we do?

I ask this question b/c the other day I kind of got in to it with someone about the relevance of culture in the church. I was explaining that the reason that some thing are permissible in the church in other countries is because of the “culture”. She replies with a great comment. She said “when you get to heaven and God asks you why you did something, will you say oh I did it b/c it was the culture of the times”, then I replied or will you get to heaven and God will say “ why where you worried about such little things, you should have been concentrating about saving lives”. When I think about it both of these are good point of views. But I feel as well as the other person in the discussion, if you are seeking God and you do things that are culturally acceptable but not in the church. Then you really need to check your motives and your heart before anything. b/c if your heart is right then you probably will not do things “just” b/c it is the culture.

Just a thought. Leave me some comments let me know your options. I don’t really have one…YET

So this is how it all went down. It’s about 6:15 in the morning, I'm sitting upstairs, praying, sipping on my grande white choc mocha skinny with whip, when I began to read the side of my starbucks cup. Now as you know starbucks prints quotes from famous people on the side of their cups, well the quote that I had on my cup was pretty good but not great. So I kept reading and realized that you could go on the starbucks web site and see more quotes. So ... I did!!! And this is what popped up. First one.

Who ever said SERVIN is not that fun just check out these pics. Yeah. its true the serve team probably has the most fun of any ministry here at hpc…lol. Not true check out this link to my boy Blake’s blog. we have had a blast these past couple of weeks leading up to Easter. It has taken tons of planning but most importantly tons of volunteer help. Thanks guys with out your help we could not have done what we did. Lets see in the past few weeks we have passed out in the community….ummm..about 9,000 bottles of water and about 1,500 packs of gum. Yeah can you say no thirst or bad breath for BR!. But on the real, we have heard time and time again how much people have been blessed by these deeds that to us, seem so simple, but to others seem so huge and possibly life changing. So I want to encourage everyone to still be in prayer for Easter. We have done a lot to let the community know that we are a church of love and hope and not condemnation. And you know I was thinking without the prayers of the hpc congregations who really knows where we would be as a church. So even if you didn’t make it to an outreach you can always reach out and lift up some prayers for the thousands on Easter Sunday who don’t know Christ.

Well I guess that a blog is suppose to give you a birds eye view of what’s going on in my life or I guess just in my head…well this is what’s been getting me all week. Nothing to spiritual but very complicated. Ok here we go. How do I unclutter my life with tasks and jobs to do but still have a high rate of completion at productivity. I guess that is the million dollar question among adult. How to be busy but not feel busy. I hate feeling busy, well not busy but like over whelmed busy. You know, that feeling like.” I haven’t gotten more than 3 hours of sleep a night” feeling, yeah that one. Well I hope this made since but its really what’s been bothering me. So I have decided that I should try to go to bed earlier and hopefully from that I will be better rested to do more and then intern not be so cluttered with life!

Its like a huge party that we decide to share with the city…yeah its true...a party. MORNING PRAYER

This morning was the first day of “morning prayer” and yes its true I was there at about 5:35 this morning. Now some of you say that is pretty early considering that it doesn’t start till 6, well I have to let you in on a little secret. There is a group of guys that we call the openers. And for every group of Morning Prayer we divide up the days and we open the building for prayer. Now we have been doing this for a long time and we have all noticed that we are not always the first one there…in fact we are never the first one there. There is one man that always beats us there. So we have created a little game among the openers. Who can beat Pastor Dino to Morning Prayer? To be honest in one and a half years of opening I have only beat him like…twice. Yeah it’s true. If you think I’m playing. you are more than welcome to try it your self but I say to you good luck. So if you are wondering did I win today…the answer is no I was beat by Johnny and Dino. If I was a betting man I would be willing to bet that no opener will beat him in this group of prayers, think about it …if you do get beat to Morning Prayer…that’s the guy you want to beat you!

Is it true I have hit the top of HPC Blogging??. Well it could be true. Yesterday my mom called me to tell me that ps D put a link to my page on his blog. And later that day Pastor Mike said he was linking me to his blog. I guess in the world of blogging this is a great development.

So I gave my mom some props...so now it’s my dads turn.
For Christmas I gave my dad a huge crawfish burner set (pot, burner, and the works) so he goes out and borrows this weak tank from a friend so that we can do the first ever outdoor chicken cook!!!!
yes it’s true I hurried home then my dad and I battered and fried enough chicken for the entire block to eat. I wish I would have taken a pic of the finished product. Wow it was good. But I must say I was impressed my dad knew his stuff, he knew temperatures times every thing. He’s good. aight well just had to show some pics oh and there are more in the pics link on the side bar

WOW... it feels like forever since i have bogged but its really only been like 5 days.
First I would like to thank my uncle for the comment. He is for real one of the coolest guys that i know, and i probably would not be the same with out him and my aunt. Thanks guys you are the best. OH by the way...you got to get a blog. Just call me and I’ll tell you how!

Its been a crazy week but a good one. As many of you know we just got finished with amplified.( a spring camp for high school and j-high students). wow it was crazy. Guest speaker Chris Caine from hillsong in Australia, did a amazing job. Now the main thing that is on my mind is the amazing outreach that we had this past Saturday. WOW it was amazing. We teamed up with the high school students from amplified and went to the St Patrick's day parade...Yep that’s right ..Crazy. 1oo kids mixed with 2000 waters to be passed out Equals organized chaos. We have been praying about this outreach for a long time now, and I feel like God truly blessed us out there. We passed out 2000 waters in about 45 mins. no kids lost and many great conversations. Plus it was tons of fun.

so that’s it that’s all i got for now. i hope to blog some of my thought soon. i haven't done that in a while. that what i really want to blog on here. not really what’s going on in my life but what’s going on in my head!..hhhhahaaaaa

So who ever says that the MRI machine is not small and very claustrophobic is a liar....yes it’s true I said it. That joker is SMALL. My shoulders where rubbing on the side and the cage they put over your face was like half and inch from my eyes....but thanks to my great Dr. I was on some amazing drugs and didn’t really know what was going on. Thank God for Medicine!!!!!!

I know i havent been a good bloger ...i dont know what it is i just forget every once in a while ...but i have to keep my blog readers happy. so here we go. first i would like to thank every one that commented on the prev blog, that was the most comments i have ever had on a blog and im pumped!!!!

ok now to the picture, many of you probably know what this is but yes today im getting an MRI on my head. Its really not that big of a deal, i have been having migraines really bad so my dr and I decided to get a MRI. now im alittle scared but i know every thing will be ok. so i still need for everyone to still be praying for me that i dont freak while im inside the machine....lol...that whould not be good!!!...ok guys ill blog when i get out!!!

Is it true!!! Yes it is!! These pics are from yesterday where myself and Brock to hammers and sawed through some poor woman’s kitchen…hahaha.... Yes to all that are wondering I never stop working. Its actually really funny, the guy who we where working for was in awe that I would work during my vacation. I was like “What else would I do?” so he put us to work doing demo on this kitchen. And as you can tell in these pictures I will become more focused on my body and will be like a Greek statue in a matter of months…lol.

Ok ok now on the the spiritual things that I have been learning or should I say have been getting a deeper understanding of biblical principals. Ok ok this is what I want to talk about “Complacency”. I know this is satans man way of destruction on the youth of this nation. You ask how do I “know” this, well I have seen it first hand not only in BR but in LA as well. The scripture that comes to mind is the one about living Luke warm(rev 3:15-16). And how God would rather you be extreme hot or extreme cold. Complacency is the down fall, sexually, mentally, emotionally, and physically in young people. You know just talking about this kinda gets me mad, b/c I sit here and realize that not only me but everyone around me sometimes lives this kind of life. Then I begin to think…WHY? Why must we live like this? Is it pressure, is it because its fun and we want to “fit in “ in all different crowds. If not that then what is it. Why is it that we allow satan to get in our actions, so that we think we are Christians yet act like every one else. Some would say “be like the Romans” “ it’s the culture”…I say this when will we as Christians begin to set the standard for what is moral, for what is “Culture”. I am sorry for being so aggressive about this issue but I feel like this is making the “Lost Generation” more lost. So I say to the Christians that read this blog, I know it will be a struggle, but we must start to speak up and stand up for what we believe. Not morally, not culturally, not ethically…but what God Says!!!

Yo… today was an amazing day. When we woke up we went to the Beverly rec center which looks like a real park that people actually go to…lol… then we came back to the appt, and got ready to go to the LA Dream Center. Now what im about to say in not a bad thing so to all that take it in a bad way check your self please. But here we go. I am so glad that I go and serve at HPC. The first 2 hours of my visit were not as I expected but were quickly made up for when we attended there Thursday night inner city service. One word. WOW… yeah the music was high impact and were anointed big time …it was a very powerful experience for me. Then what really made the night was the speaker. His name is Juda Smith and wow he is seriously the most amazing speaker that I have heard at his age. Probably in my top 5. He was real, relevant and crazy. Ok so what is this trip doing for me,

Its giving me a new fresh revelation of my faith and how I express it. People think I’m crazy some think I live on the edge but do I? That’s one thing that I have had to ask my self in the past few days (mainly tonight), am I living at 110% or am I surviving at 80%. I challenge you to do the same. Observe your goals and go all out to get there. Don’t let satin get in your way. We do have the power to succeed now all we have to do is use it.

i know i know im alittle late on this blog, i ment to do it last night but never got around to it. I was going to put some pics on there but they are not good so ill have to wait for tonight to post some. well yesterday, myself and brock went to hunington beach for a casting call for a dr pepper commecial!!! yeah it was pretty cool. Then we went to the beach for a few hours but it was kinda cold so we left. and sat in 2 hours of traffic....yep if you think that BR has problems with traffic...hahahahaha...get over it you have no clue what bad traffic is...i sat on the road for two hours that with out traffic could have been 30 mins....gosh i love it out here. Well i got to go cause we are about to go to the LA Dream Center!! ill post some pics later

ON THE PLANE

You know any normal person can write a blog, but it take a true blogger to write a blog while he is on a boing 737 row 23 seat A ( next to a business couple) while on the way to L.A. so here I am all 260 lbs of me in a seat that is mad for a 140 pound ,man. This is amazing, I’m just pumped that I was able to get past the first two seats to be able to sit next to the window….lol…haha..

So you might be asking your self will I be blogging, will I be taking pictures and the answer is yes I will be posting at least once a day maybe even more. I will be arriving in L.A. at 5:30 and am not quite sure what I will be doing, I know this that I would like to give MAJOR props to heather for the best Valentines gift anyone has ever given me …you are amazing…yes its true amazing….ill be back

yes its true im going back to cali...but only for one week, thanks to my great girlfriend! For V-Day she went out of her way, contacted my friend in L.A., called my boss, and bought a plane ticket for me...YEP shes amazing!!!

So your probably asking why L.A. well its simple but not simple. about 2yrs ago i went out to Cali with my three best friends, and we had a blast but while i was there i felt God pushing on my heart so i began to thinik and think and think and realized that i don't know anything...yes its true( jp admits he knows nothing). so i have taken 2 trips since then to have fun but to also in some way search my heart to see the extent of Gods calling. So im not saying that i will move there, im not saying ...HPC L.A.....and im not say that all i might do is financially assit a local church down there, only God and time will tell. But for you i ask that you pray for me as i fly and meet with great people in L.A oh and get my fresh tan...hahahahaha...

OH i have some great pics of when heather gave it to me, i would love to put them up but heather is not as computer sauve( didnt spell that right) as others so, it might take a while...lol

Yep its true i have finally hit the "Blog Curve" or thats what i call it!. I'm really busy now and havent had much time to post any thing, so i call it the blog curve! I got to give props up to my buddy DANO for putting up a link to my page...that’s first class Dan...you are the man.

If you where not able to make it to the "Vision Night 06" then boy did you miss out it was ( in my opinion) one of the best events we have ever put on here at HPC it was funny, informative and just plain cool, and pastor Dino did a slammin job getting the leaders ready for 06. This event for me really sealed the deal on catching this " 06...the finest year ever" bug. I am truly convinced that if i dedicate my self fully to the cause of Christ then my year will truly be blessed. I must encourage every one to walk in faith and believe that this could be the best year ever. To me... that is called faith ...believing what is not seen.

PS. I just got a ticket for an expired inspection sticker, ha ha... the test has begun on whether I still believe this will be my finest year....lol...just jokin...but I really did get a ticket.

I have to give mad props up to the staff and pastors here at HPC. They really stepped it up this past weekend during the staff retreat. Pastor Dino probably told the staff the most releavent thing that he could have told us, to me it really hit me right where im at. And a shout out to the rest of teh staff. YO you guys did a great job on the servant evangelism friday at lunch. most of what i have heard about the event was good. and i would like to thank brad, for putting up with jp, j-ben, and byrd all in one room. you got to be strong to do that.

So I’m sitting here in my room looking at this plaque that says " Good Morning, This is God, I'll be handling all of your problems today so, relax and have a nice day" Then i began to think about what makes a person have a bad day.

And this is what I realized. No matter how much we want to believe that other can make us upset or angry. Reality is that it's how we chose to respond to a situation that determined the level of joy in a day. For instance, if I’m at my desk and someone walks by and says something hurtful. It is my response that really matters, not what they say. Do I let it sink into my heart and hurt me, or do i let it roll off. This brings me to my next point that we chose who we are. We chose who we let speak in to our lives, we chose our friends we chose where we work, so why not CHOSE our own emotions. So I encourage every one that if you are having a bad day, then stop for a second and realize that you are allowing your self to have a bad day, and that you are the only one that can change that!

When I started working for the church one of the best things anyone ever told me what to "have a soft heart, but tough skin".

Morning Prayer

So I’m sitting here, about to set my alarm clock and I begin to ponder the thought of Morning Prayer. What is it to me and how does it affect my life. Do I enjoy it or do I despise it. Mandatory…unmadatory? Six o’clock or seven? So what is it to me? Well Morning Prayer is sometimes the best thing that I do all day, and is the one thing that I’m so glad I did that day. And on other days, at about 4pm I begin to reconsider being up four hours earlier than what I really needed to be. You know what, I heard a wise man once say that “It’s not how you start the race that counts but its how you finish”. In that case why not have “Late Night Prayer” oh wow I begin so smile at this thought…how much more would I rather stay up late and finish the day strong than wake up way earlier than what I need to. Then the same type questions begin to enter my mind like. Will I be the only one there? What time would you do it? Do you make it a real prayer meeting or a silent meditation? Contemporary or old school? I guess all these questions are kind of pointless. The real point should be, what do I need to do to become closer to the Lord. If its morning prayer or if its night prayer. If its doing a fast or the act of silence. I must be willing to lay down my own agenda and feelings. So that my mind will be free to ponder in the everlasting love of the Lord….P.S. this picture is the sky after morning prayer today.

oh no i beg to differ. This past week me and some of my buddys( brock and jacob to be exact) took a trip to the nice, new, dark HPC courts. despite the darkness we were able to play a litte game of 21. Now to those of you who are wondering about the progress on allowing people to play on the court, i took the liberty of investigating. It is to my knowlege that after the "Grand Opening" then we will be able to play, at night with the lights!! But we should be able to get special permision to hoop in the middle of the night with the lights. Its there to build relationships and thats what we do!!!

I have been sitting here at my computer for about 10 min I have written about 3 blogs entries but I have realized how hard this might be for me. I will write a full page and then read it back and not like what i wrote. just like this blog for instance I am about to start over. I guess its cause i do not have many entrees on here yet so I don’t want to be "wierd" on here...lol. but we will see...HEY how about this if you have any topics you want me to give my " two cents" about, then comment to this blog and I will tell you my thoughts...no holds bar...in the flesh. Many of you that saw my page prior to this new that i was having some problems b/c of internet explorer...because i use firefox it would not transfer the page right. and for those of you that dont belive me check with song he saw!...but here goes i will try this agian. through this blog i hope to express my own personal view points on many issus and hopefully do a devotional on here ...we will see how that goes.
